Two Scents on Repeat

I love having fragrances in my collection that create completely different moods, and these two are a perfect example. Frédéric Malle Lipstick Rose and Le Labo Thé Matcha 26 do not feel similar to me at all, yet I find myself reaching for both depending on the kind of day I am having.
One feels expressive, feminine and beautifully dressed up, while the other is much quieter and more comforting. Together, they cover two completely different sides of my perfume wardrobe.

Frédéric Malle Lipstick Rose

Frédéric Malle Lipstick Rose, created by perfumer Ralf Schwieger, is the fragrance I choose when I want something elegant with a slightly playful personality. The first thing it makes me think of is classic makeup: powder, lipstick and an old-fashioned dressing table, but presented in a way that still feels stylish rather than dated. The floral side is very noticeable to me, with rose and violet creating that recognizable cosmetic, almost powdery effect.
What I enjoy most about Lipstick Rose is how much character it has. It does not disappear into the background, and I would not necessarily choose it when I want an extremely subtle skin scent. For me, it works best when I actually want perfume to become part of my outfit. I especially like it for dinners, events, or days when I am wearing something simple and want the fragrance to make the whole look feel more polished. It has a feminine sweetness, but the powdery quality keeps it sophisticated rather than overly sugary.

Le Labo Thé Matcha 26

Le Labo Thé Matcha 26 gives me almost the opposite experience. This is the perfume I reach for when I want something calm, soft and intimate. Despite the name, I do not think of it as a literal cup of matcha. On my skin, it feels much more like a creamy scent with a fresh green quality in the background.
I love wearing Thé Matcha 26 during quieter days, especially when I want my perfume to stay close rather than fill the room. There is something very comforting about it. It feels clean without becoming sharp and warm without becoming heavy, which makes it easy for me to wear throughout the year. I also like it with minimal outfits because it has the same understated mood.

Two Completely Different Moods

If Lipstick Rose feels like getting dressed up, Thé Matcha 26 feels like slowing down. I choose the first when I want something noticeable, feminine and polished, while the second is my choice for softer, more relaxed days.
That contrast is exactly why I enjoy owning both. I never want every perfume in my collection to serve the same purpose, and these two give me completely different experiences depending on my mood.
