Friends, living in hot and humid weather means sunscreen can either become your best skincare step… or the product you secretly avoid every morning.
I’ve tried so many SPFs that felt greasy, heavy, sticky, or just impossible to survive outdoors with. But these two Korean sunscreens genuinely changed how I feel about daily sun protection.
They both feel lightweight and watery, but after testing them side by side, I definitely found myself reaching for one more than the other.
1. SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum
The SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum honestly feels more like skincare than sunscreen. The texture is incredibly watery and smooth, almost like applying a hydrating serum instead of SPF.
It spreads across the skin so easily that I barely need effort to blend it in, and within a few swipes, it completely disappears into the skin. What impressed me most is the finish. There’s no white cast, no greasy shine, no sticky layer—my skin literally just looks like skin afterward.
And for humid weather? This sunscreen survives it beautifully. It doesn’t feel suffocating or heavy halfway through the day, which is probably why I keep reaching for it over and over again lately. Another huge plus for me: absolutely no sunscreen smell. That alone already makes the experience feel cleaner and fresher.
Price: Around $18.90 for 50ml
Texture: Watery serum
Finish: Natural skin-like finish
Stickiness: None
2. ISNTREE Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel
The ISNTREE Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel feels slightly richer compared to the SKIN1004 one, but still much lighter than traditional sunscreens. The texture leans more gel-serum rather than fully watery, and it takes a little longer to fully settle into the skin. Once blended, though, the complexion looks smoother and healthier, almost like the skin got an extra hydration boost.
What I like is how comfortable it feels at first application. It gives that hydrated glass-skin look without immediately becoming oily. But personally, the sunscreen scent becomes more noticeable once I start rubbing it in. It’s not super strong or unbearable, but after trying fragrance-free sunscreens, I definitely became more sensitive to that typical SPF smell.
Still, if you enjoy slightly more moisturizing sunscreens, this one performs really nicely without leaving white cast behind.
Price: Around $18.90 for 50ml
Texture: Gel serum
Finish: Smooth hydrated complexion
Stickiness: Slightly noticeable after blending
Honestly, SKIN1004 completely stole my attention. I didn’t expect to love it this much, but it genuinely made sunscreen feel enjoyable instead of something I apply out of obligation. The watery texture, invisible finish, and zero stickiness combination just works perfectly for humid weather.
ISNTREE is still a really good sunscreen, especially if you prefer more hydration. But once I got used to how weightless SKIN1004 feels, it became difficult not to compare everything else to it.
