Degree Path Dilemma

Hey friends ๐Ÿ‘‹
Let's talk about something we've all stressed about at some point: choosing a university major. Yup, that big decision between science & engineering (a.k.a. STEM) and humanities or arts (a.k.a. liberal arts).
If you're standing at this crossroads right now, or just curious what it's like from someone who's been there โ€” let me share my personal take with you. Grab a snack ๐Ÿฟ, let's chat!

๐ŸŽ“ My Own College Struggle

Back when I was 18, everyone around me was hyping up science majors.
"Go into engineering, you'll never go broke!"
"Tech is the future!"
Sound familiar? ๐Ÿ˜…
I was good at both writing and math. But I felt more alive when creating, writing, and expressing. Still, I picked a science major because I didn't want people to say I chose something "useless". Spoiler: I regretted that โ€” at least for a while.

๐Ÿ’ผ What STEM Gave Me

Let's be honest โ€” science and tech fields often have clearer job paths.
I learned practical, in-demand skills like data analysis, coding, and problem-solving.
The pay was decent right out of school, and companies do tend to hunt for engineers and IT grads first.
But I also learned something more important: if you don't enjoy what you're doing, no paycheck will save you from burnout.
And that's what happened to me. I was doing okay financially, but I felt like I was dragging myself through every Monday.

๐ŸŽจ What Arts Folks Have That's Special

Here's the thing people don't talk about enough: arts and humanities teach you how to think, communicate, and connect.
Some of the most successful people I know studied literature, sociology, or design.
They've built careers in content creation, branding, education, even tech โ€” because they know how to tell stories and understand people.
That's gold in today's world, where every business wants to connect emotionally with their audience.

๐Ÿš€ What Actually Matters More Than Your Major

Here's what I've learned after a few years out in the "real world":
Your degree doesn't lock your future. Your attitude does.
Many people change careers, learn new skills online, and build hybrid paths.
A humanities grad can work in tech. A science major can become a writer.
What matters is whether you're willing to keep learning, stay curious, and take action.

๐Ÿ’ก Soโ€ฆ Which One Should You Choose?

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you enjoy structure, numbers, and want early job stability โ€” STEM might be your thing.
๐Ÿ‘‰ If you love expression, people, and ideas โ€” arts or humanities could light you up.
๐Ÿ‘‰ If you like both? You don't have to choose one forever. Life's long โ€” and flexible. You can start somewhere and shift later.
Just don't pick based on what "sounds safe" to other people. Pick what fits you, and make it work for the world.

๐Ÿ—ฃ Let's Talk!

I'd love to know โ€” if you had to pick today, which path would you go down: science or arts?
Or if you already chose, would you do it differently now? Let's share stories in the comments ๐Ÿ’ฌ
We're all figuring it out together. โค๏ธ
